Wear 84: Not A Blatant Plug, Just Seems Like It

If you are in Melbourne, and seeing as it is the weekend ... Oh, wait. It's not, it's just my weekend which mostly doesn't co-incide with what is 'traditionally' considered a weekend, so seeing as it is a day, I am sure you are looking for something special to do. I can make a suggestion if you like? But it turns out you will have to wait for the 'real' weekend to do it. I am just getting your planning in early. This weekend, forget the whole Easter thing and head out to Herring Island, that little island in the middle of the Yarra River just at the end of Williams Road in Toorak (you didn't know it was there, did you?). You can catch a punt from there. Ceramics Victoria is hosting their Haven exhibition at the moment as part of the Herring Island Summer Arts Festival. Beautiful pieces of exquisitely worked clay abound. And if you go this weekend you also have their 'pop-up' shop, P.U.S.H., happening, where you can purchase and take home other works of the exhibiting artists for your very own. It is a great little island, full of native fauna and flora. You could take a picnic, take in the exhibition and also wander along their permanent outdoor sculpture trail. What with the boat ride and all the rest to do, it is a full and fun day out, don't you think. And when you tell everyone about it on Tuesday, they won't believe you have been hopping onto islands in your own inner city. Open 30th and 31st March, 1st, 6th and 7th April, 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.

P.S: My bestie and one of the photographers whose work you return here day after day to see, B——, helped organise Haven. But this is an unsolicited and unbiased suggestion for your weekend.

The Outfit
Top: Op-shopped
Dress: Op-shopped—odd thing, I can never work out how to tie it up. I thought it may be better on a skinny body but looks equally odd on Irene
Sunnies: Gifted from a BP along the freeway between Melbourne and Geelong by the boy because I had forgotten mine. Funky for a service station buy I think
Earrings: Cheap and cheerful jewellery store, time for a little bling again—it's been a while
Shoes: Irregular Choice 'Abigail's Party'

Photographer de Jour: B——

    1. Thanks Sue. It is nice how small we make the world by reading about other people's everyday lives, isn't it? Thanks so much for stopping by.
