Day 229: What's Important?

Things that shouldn't take up the first fourteen pages of the paper:

The Essendon Football club, James Hird, and their dodgy drug usage.

Kevin Rudd's promises, Tony Abbot's promises, Kevin Rudd's rebukes, Tony Abbot's rebukes, Kevin Rudd's make-up artist.

Things that should at least rate a mention somewhere in the first fourteen pages of the paper:

The alleged 'chemical attack' in Syria.

The stabbing of a Victoria police member.

What does this say about what we, as a society, deem to be important?

  1. It says nothing about what society deems important and everything about the irrelevance of newspapers these days.

  2. So sad. Desensitization to violence seems to make those stories too commonplace for the headlines now. A sad reflection of the times.
