- This website I found: the Victoria & Albert Museum Patchwork Pattern Maker. I don't even quilt. Yet. You pop in a photo and it pops out a pattern for a quilt. Some photos would work better than others. The thing that always stopped me from starting a quilt (besides the seven million other projects I have on the go) was what to make. This solves that problem. What other excuse could I come up with now? Oh, yeah: the seven million other projects I have on the go. Cool though.
And what's really not:
- This is just down-right un-Australian. But you know what, I don't care. I don't find the Grand Final cool. There, I said it. It just seems to be weeks and weeks of thugs talking about thugs. And I really don't find The Footy Show cool. [Can of worms warning!] I find it disconcerting that some men seem to revel in the act of dressing as women as parody. I'm talking about men who, the rest of the time, are fiercely protective of their images as lewds and womanisers. Not nice men. I'm never going to be able to explain myself well here. And there will be people who think I just don't have a sense of humour. (I find funny things funny, I don't find this funny.) I'm not talking gender issues. A sound argument will take me too long and will require footnotes, so I am going to go with the phrases that are popping into my my mind about how I feel. It reflects their attitude to women, and it's not a good attitude. It reveals patriarchal or misogynistic attempts to control the domain of the feminine. It is a cheap, lazy attempt at humour. It's not cool.

Yes some aspects of both Footy Shows, AFL & NRL inclusive just are not funny at all, more outright boring than comical. But I do like some of the parodys of singers and Rock Groups.
